I lifted my first weights over 20 years ago. If someone had told me back then that at 45 years old I'd be a Strong Woman I don't think I'd of believed it!
I'd done quite a bit of weight lifting over the years, but it was after I left I stopped long distance running at the end of 2014 and I then started lifting weights, I did it with a focus on purely building strength.
I did Power Lifting for a while and I started to train with the Strongman/Strongwoman equipment like the Yoke, Farmers Walk, Log, Sandbags, Sled etc. It when then that I really started to build strength!
Over the past 6 months I have continued to build my strength purely through body weight and calisthenics training, and strength continues to grow, especially my core and upper body :-)
Over the past 2 years Strong Woman has become my passion and there's nothing more amazing than teaching my female clients what it means to be strong! Being strong isn't just a physical thing, it's more about the strength within us, which becomes more evident the more we train & grow.
'I took a big step a step a year ago at getting myself strong mentally and also becoming vegan. In January I met Lisa and finding out about Strong Woman I knew I wanted to try and see how strong I could be. I love the feeling of pushing myself to my fullest in each session and in only 4 months I've come so far! Mimi
